Chaka
is from the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection,
Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Her courageous spirit, edginess and
out going personality keeps her determined to reach her goals
in life.
While
in college, Chaka began her journey with natural hair after a
ten page paper on Black Hair for an African American
Literature class. Since
then, she has fallen in love with herself and her new look.
Even though it has given her problems as far as landing
modeling and dancing work, she refuses to give up her unique
beauty in order fit into the society's mold of a model or
dancer.
Chaka
graduated from Cheyney University (America's Oldest HBCU,
1837) where she received her degree with honors in
Communications. In the fall of 2008, she will be attending
graduate school at Penn State University where she will work
on her masters in Leadership Development.
Chaka
is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
On her spare time, she volunteers at MANNA, an
organization that delivers care and hope by nourishing people
at acute nutritional risk from a life-threatening illness.
Chaka
is an artist, dancer, actress, model and mother of an active
eight year old son. Her
deep passion for performing arts and thirst to interact with
every aspect of it is the drive that keeps this young triple
threat (female, educated and black) going.
